tamaam log akele, rahber hi na tha
bicherne waaklon mein ik mera ham safer hi na tha

berhanaa shaakhon ka jungle gara tha aankhon mein
woh raat thi ke kahin chaand ka guzer hi na tha

tumhaare shaher ki her chaaon meherbaan thi mager
jahaan pe dhoop kari thi wahaan shajaer hi na tha

sameit leti shikasta gulaab ki khushboo
hawaa ke haath mein aisa koi huner hi na tha

mein itne saanpon ko raste mein deikh aayi thi
ke tere shaher mein pohanchi to koi der hi na tha

badan mein pheil gaya surkh beil ki maanind
woh zakhm sookhta kia jis ka chaara gar hi na tha

hawaa ke laaye hue beej phir hawaa ko gaye
khile the phool kuch aise ke jin mein zar hi na tha

kadam to reit pe saahil ne bhi na rakhne dia
badan ko jakre hue sirf ik bhanwer hi na tha
